Part 9 of the Propaganda Photo Series is the very first book entirely devoted to ‘Beutewaffen’: foreign weapons captured and re-deployed by the Germans. These were vital for warfare, because no less than half of the 40 million portable weapons delivered to the German army, its auxiliaries, allies and the Volkssturm during World War II were of foreign origin! After an introduction on the method by which the captured material was cataloged and classified (with the most complete overview of the Kennblätter Fremden Geräts ever published), twelve chapters follow in which the use of captured weapons from Belgium, France, Greece, Great Britain and Britain, Italy, Yugoslavia, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, the Soviet Union, Czechoslovakia and the United States is depicted and described.
