John L. Darling Jr. –
As a decendent of the Darling Brothers, I would recommend this book to anyone looking for information as to a source to identify the weapon. I have seen a couple of requests for info showing pictures which were not these pistols. This book has several top grade pictures of the actual weapon. I have seen one for sale for eight thousand–not sure if it ever sold. The book was very good at telling a good, and factual story of the Darling Brothers. The only thing interesting I might add is that their idea for the revolver with the rotating chamber holding the ammo & gun powder came to them after observing a windmill that had fallen into the Blackstone River that was still rotating in the water. They also invented the first water turbine using the same idea. Also the first easy-back reclining chair (my wife says it figurers my ancestors came up with that idea by observing me.
